Here are a few examples of the performances from the Arc Theatre, to showcase the mix, set up and effects I helped to create.
KAOS
For KAOS's set, we used lots of delay on the lead singers voice. This was very successful and they were very happy with the way their set sounded
SICKBUG
SICKBUG are a lot heavier and louder compared to the rest of the acts. This is something we had to consider throughout the performance.
The Unknowns
In The Unknowns set, not all the songs were sung by the same vocalist.
The lead vocals would change depending on the song.
Guy and I needed to take this into account when setting the levels for the vocal mics.
Lauren
Lauren is a solo, singer songwriter, who performs mainly original songs in the genre of POP.
Her sound is a massive contrast and mood change compared to the other acts. She is either accompanied by piano or acoustic guitar, Guy and I had to cater to this and create a completely different mix.
TLN
TLN were the only performers to use backing tracks in their set. This required a separate channel on the mixing desk.
I also had to pay attention to their body language and listen carefully, so I could press stop and play on each of their tracks at the correct time.
